Depression Therapy

When everything feels heavier than it should

You may be continuing with your responsibilities each day, while inside everything feels flat, distant, or quietly exhausting.

Start Talking Therapies

A moment you may recognise

Perhaps you have noticed that something has shifted. You wake up feeling tired in a way that rest does not resolve.

Activities that once gave you energy now feel distant or effortful. The days may move slowly, and even simple tasks can feel heavier than they should.

You might find yourself wondering where your motivation, clarity, or sense of direction has gone.

Low mood can affect many people at different stages of life. It is not a personal failure — it can be a signal that something needs attention and care.

How we work with depression

Rebuilding energy, direction, and stability

I work with you to understand what may be maintaining low mood — not only to reduce symptoms, but to gently shift the patterns that keep depression active.
Together, we focus on:

  • Persistent low mood and emotional heaviness
  • Loss of interest, motivation, or pleasure
  • Mental fatigue and reduced concentration
  • Recurrent self-critical or hopeless thoughts
  • Withdrawal from relationships or activities
  • Feelings of emptiness or disconnection
  • Rumination

The aim is not to force positivity.
It is to support you gradually reconnect with energy, meaning, and a steadier sense of self.

Low mood is not the only difficulty I support. You can also explore work on anxiety, trauma, and night therapy.

CBT and EMDR: evidence-based treatments

Working on the patterns that maintain low mood

CBT can help you understand how certain thinking patterns, behaviours, and avoidance cycles can keep depression active — and supports you in gradually rebuilding activity, perspective, and emotional balance. When low mood is connected to past unresolved traumatic experiences, TF CBT and EMDR can help process these memories and reduce their emotional intensity. The aim is not to “force” change, but to create the conditions for steadier mood, clearer thinking, and renewed engagement with life.

You do not have to keep carrying everything on your own.

Low mood can feel heavy — but it is not the whole of who you are.
Together, we can work toward steadier energy,
and a clearer sense of direction in your daily life.
